MISSOULA – A Missoula man died in a one-vehicle accident Thursday night after he hit two parked vehicles.
The Missoula County Sheriff/Coroner has identified the victim as 26-year-old Kyle Winchester.
Missoula Police Department spokesman Sgt. Travis Welsh says the man was driving on Schramm Street just west of North Reserve Street at 7:15 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle and drove into two parked vehicles.
The car then tipped over onto the driver’s side after the collision.
Welsh says that Winchester died at the scene while a 24-year-old male passenger was taken to a hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Welsh says both men were not wearing seatbelts.
Missoula police continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
A GoFundMe account has been created by Kiel Harris to help his family with cremation and funeral costs. Harris writes:
He is survived by a loving family whose hearts are aching, and too many friends to count. Please consider helping out his loved ones as they navigate this difficult time. Donations will go to his mother and sisters to help with cremation and funeral costs. Kyle was a one of a kind man. Loving and caring to his core. He will be missed greatly by not only his family but by the many people whose lives he touched in his 26 years.
