MISSOULA – Missoula Water officials say there’s no need to run water any longer, now that it looks like the freezing conditions that could have broken service lines have subsided.
The utility had warned customers last week that there was a possibility that lines to homes and businesses could freeze and rupture because the frost later was extended some 5′ to 6′ deep in some neighborhoods because of the extended cold spell.
Missoula Assistant Public Works Director Dennis Bowman says crews have performed some tests and the conditions have warmed up enough that the run water precaution is no longer needed.
