(UPDATE: 6/1/20, 4:40 PM): Crews battled a house fire in Clinton for several hours Sunday evening.
Clinton Rural Fire District Chief Daniel Tuckers says volunteers were called out to a house fire at mile marker 9 on Rock Creek around 8:30 p.m. and arrived to find a home fully involved.
Tucker said the house is a total loss. He said they were able to save an adjacent shop and several trees around the home.
One resident was home at the time of the fire but was able to get out. Tucker said the Red Cross is assisting the family.
(ORIGINAL: 6/1/20, 9:24 AM): Crews battled a house fire in Clinton on Sunday evening.
Clinton Rural Fire District volunteers were called out to a house fire at around 8:30 p.m. and arrived on scene to find a house fully involved.
According to a social media post, firefighters were able to save the adjacent house as it was smoking upon our arrival.
The Missoula Rural Fire District and East Missoula Rural Fire Department also responded to the scene.
Fire officials note that over 15 tender trucks were used to pump water out of Brewster Creek.
Two volunteers stayed overnight at the scene to monitor the scene.
