POTOMAC — A structure fire wiped out a home and left behind nothing but ash in Potomac.
The blaze was reported at around 1 p.m Saturday after smoke could be seen along Montana Highway 200.
The building was fully engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived. Officials say the people in the house evacuated before crews arrived on scene.
One person was burned in the fire and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Greenough Potomac Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Justin Iverson says a shed cars and nearby wildlands were also threatened.
"Initially with all the heat coming off the house burning as wild as it was, we had individual trees
torching and the grass was starting to spread. We got a quick knock down on it and DNRC is here scratching a line around to the property."
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
