MISSOULA — KGBA, the University of Montana student-run radio station, kicks off its 24th anniversary with a month-long music festival, called Birthday Bash 2020.

The festival takes place every Friday night from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. during September. The event is being held entirely online and is being streamed inside Imagine Nation Brewing.

KGBA production engineer Matthew Knight says that this festival is a great way for local Missoula artists to perform in a space that is safe from COVID-19.

“We just really hope that people can support the station and most importantly local artists that haven’t had the chance to perform," he said.

"A lot of musicians in Missoula have been hit hard recently because of COVID, and we’d just love if they got to perform and get the opportunity to perform again and have people support them," Knight added.

The festival will be available to listen to, and donations can be made here to the local musicians and bands that will be performing.
