MISSOULA — Drivers using Reserve Street, which is pretty much all of us, will have to make some adjustments next week as the Montana Department of Transportation begins a major construction project.

However, MDT is hoping to schedule the work for the least amount of impact.

The work starts Monday and extends up North Reserve to the I-90-Grant Creek Road interchange.

More than five miles of Reserve will be repaved, with all of the old concrete from Mullan Road to the freeway being rehabilitated. Bike lanes and other features are also being added. There will be single lane closures, and delays of up to 15 minutes.

However, the good news is, contractors will be using newer materials that aren't as subject to temperature, so most of the work is being scheduled at night. However, there could be some daytime impacts on adjoining businesses.
