MISSOULA — With one colorful locomotive hard at work for Montana Rail Link, crews are preparing a second "tribute" engine which shows thanks to Montana's front line workers for their dedication during the pandemic.
Last month, MRL rolled out the new "Veteran's Locomotive", which hit the tracks on Veteran's Day and is currently running freight between Billings and Sandpoint.
Now, a team from AlphaGraphics Missoula is applying a different design to a second engine at MRL's Missoula shops.
Like before, it will take 1,600 square feet of vinyl wrap to cover the big engine in the design honoring healthcare workers. The wrap is applied the same as is done for cars and trucks, but using entire sheets to cover the equipment from top to tracks.
This second engine will also be used to run freight on the "LLM" train, running between Laurel, Livingston and Missoula.
We'll give a final look when the work is finished.
