ANACONDA — A ceremony was held Thursday in Anaconda for one of the men killed in an avalanche that hit near Seeley Lake on New Year's Day.

Firefighters in Anaconda set up outside the Washoe Theater for the memorial service to honor Lowell Grosvold, 26, who had served as a volunteer firefighter in the community.

Grosvold was killed along with Jade Green, 24, of Anaconda after their snowmobiles were caught in an avalanche near Seeley Lake.

A third rider survived the slide.
