10-year-old boy killed in Highway 93 crash north of Lolo

MISSOULA — A 10-year-old Florence boy was killed and two adults were injured in a car crash Monday between Missoula and Lolo on Highway 93.

The Montana Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. near mile marker 87 in the "S" curves.

A Mazda traveling south lost control and entered the northbound lane where it struck the back of a van. The Mazda then rotated before it was hit by another vehicle in the northbound lane.

The driver of the Mazda was ejected and taken to St. Patrick Hospital with serious injuries.

A 10-year-old boy died at the scene, while two other children were not injured, according to the MHP.

The names of those involved have not yet been released. The crash is still under investigation.
