LIBBY — A 57-year-old Libby man died in an early Thursday morning crash on US Highway 2 in Lincoln County.
The Montana Highway Patrol reports the accident happened shortly before 4:45 a.m. near mile marker 45.
MHP reports the victim was driving a van westbound on US Highway 2 when it went off the road and onto the shoulder.
The vehicle continued for another 190 feet before striking a tree. The victim was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The MHP is continuing to investigate the fatal accident and the victim’s name has not yet been released.
