POLSON — Polson School District held a special board meeting Friday approving a longtime district employee as interim superintendent.

Tom DiGiallonardo begins his term as interim superintendent on Monday, replacing outgoing Superintendent Rex Weltz.

DiGiallonardo most recently served as Curriculum Director for Polson schools and has worked in the school district for 20 years.

Outgoing Superintendent Rex Weltz has accepted an administrative position with Helena Public Schools, after working for the Polson School District since 2012.

Weltz says he will officially resign on August 7, helping DiGiallonardo transition into his new role over the next three weeks.
