Missoula County now reporting 52 active COVID-19 cases

MISSOULA — Local health officials are reporting 52 active COVID-19 cases in Missoula County as of Thursday morning and the cumulative case total has risen to 100.

There have been 97 confirmed cases* to date as well as three epi-linked cases** to date, according to the Missoula City-County Health Department.

Thursday's numbers show an addition of two new COVID-19 cases.

A total of 47 recoveries have been recorded as well as one COVID-19 related death. There are now 52 active cases in the county.

The health department decided on Monday to pause Sentinel Testing for asymptomatic individuals due to the recent surge in positive cases.

People who are not experiencing symptoms but fall within a high-risk category are urged to contact the health department (406) 258-4770.

*the Missoula City-County Health Department may be alerted to additional cases before the Montana Department of Health and Human Services.

** Cases that are “epi-linked” developed symptoms while in quarantine after being identified as close contacts to cases that tested positive.
